hello all, i have had a problem with fungus gnat larvae, and have found a cheap solution:ground cinnamon. i thought i would pass this on for people that have had the same problem as me.

i have also read that peppermint tea helps to kill the larvae and deter the adults.

Correct culture will also deter them, and they do little or no harm

Fungus nats eat dead root matter and organic matter. If you water too much with organic matter they come to life. I use a compost tea with mycorrhizal and subcultures on my roots to help keep them away. Outside they get killed off in winter, but if you have a lot of them its from unhealthy roots. Not sure if you use a compost tea, but if you want I can give you a good formula to brew some. Its fairly inexpensive and easy to make.

Not really a solution. It kills fungi, and as such, the mycchoriza. Not really the best solution, imho.
