I recently received my first bonsai, a ~14 year old Fukien tea tree. It has already made a 2,000 mile plus journey cross country. Shortly after the trip I noticed disrupted soil in the pot. It looks like it might have been caused by something burrowing in the soil but I can't find anything online. I've attached a photo. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you, Jen

How is the health of your tree? Is there a large hole or can you even see a hole?

The tree seems overall in good health. I don't see an actual hole and when I shift the disrupted soil I don't see anything. I have lost some leaves (they have dried and fallen off). I'm not sure if that is related to the move or this potential issue. I water by soaking the pot once every ten days and fertilize with a liquid fertilizer once a month.

No. No sightings of any bugs whatsoever. I'm stumped.
