So I've put My satsuki in a new pot finally. I am happier with this than I was with the big rectangular brown pot in the old pictures. the lighting doesn't do the colors justice.. it was pretty dark.

It'll need a good trim after flowering..

I would say this: If you have more sensitive hands, wear gloves if you're going to work with kanuma for a few hours.. :-)

I've added some ketotsushi to the sides, as I want to get some moss on the soil. I'll take pictures, when that's finished.

so I'm starting to see the flower buds open on this tree... it has already had some good growth.. I'mm going to need to prune it back pretty good this year after it flowers... (or would any of you recommend waiting a year for pruning back because I repotted?) I know that the lower branches need to be pruned more than the upper branches... and that they backbud well.. are there any other principals in general pruning that you have observed?

You are going in the right direction with this one. Just don't do anything while it is blooming.

Thanks for the update, Tuba.
The color of the flowers and the pot color are killers, very nice match!
Healthy Azalea, good to see it.

As far as the pot's color is concerned, AUK pointed me in a good direction. I was thinking round a light colored, but green wasn't at the top of the list.
