Here is a jade that I have had for a couple of years. It started as a tiny plant from a garden center and has since developed (with some guidance) into what you see now. I'm currently letting it grow out to strengthen the branches and trunk and I suspect it will look quite overgrown in a few weeks. Hopefully it will look less spindly in a year or two.

To that end, do you think I ought to plant it in a larger pot? I know that it's roots cannot have filled the pot yet since it has not been in its current pot for long.

one problem ive had with jade trees is i can not get the branches to stay in place. i wired a jade for almost 2 yrs and once i removed the wire the branch went back to its original position in a couple months.

I think it may have to do with composition of the branches themselves, they don't seem to form true woody branches. That being said, I like the look of many of the jade bonsai I have seen and I am a big fan of their resilience.

yes they are not woody and rely on water pressure in the branches. i have too seen some nice dwarf jade bonsai trees. good luck with your jade.
