Thank you, Sam :) If I’m able to find solution for the defects it could turn out well.

Mine is doing great. New growth all over it. Have to work in shaping in to a proper bonsai tree though. It’s somewhat tall and does have many branches lower on the trunk. Will post pictures coming soon!

Sounds good :) If you open a progression topic for it, would be great!

The thing almost gone, but looks like need to work harder to kill a Chinese elm... :D

So the story... I’ve built a wooden cage around the pot to straighten up a part of the trunk with blocks and screws and wires.. It wasn’t a time for repot, but I swear, next time on a similar situation, I won’t care. This tree is forgiving if just one thing wrong (..and for a shorter period).
So I built up this cage, sliced out a wedge from the trunk, pulled the cutting edges together with guy-wires and seal the wound. It didn’t helped my one month out, but the real problems started later. The soil was broken down too fast, and I just couldn’t manage it inside the cage. The tree lost not just the vigor, but also every single leaf.
At a point I gave up, released and repotted. Looks like it was enough time on the cage to keep around the point where I like, but still not good enough. I’ll work on that part maybe autumn if the tree feels.

I didn’t touched it since I’ve bounced it back from torpor and thanks for the heavy fertilization, got some leaf size :) I think to trim on these days.
