Just started out with this tree about 3 weeks ago. After some significant pruning and 100% defoliation 3 weeks ago, I’ve got some good growth and some bloom, indicating the tree is healthy.

It’s a start... let’s see where we go from here. This has a Long way to go.

Nice plant.

Note that they do not close wounds well: So frequent pruning is a must, to avoid overly large cuts. Also, the wood is brittle: Wire in young stages.
I find that lots of water and fertilizer will reduce the flowers and increase growth.

Some of the leaves on the bougie are getting shriveled up / tearing up after turning mature. I’ve checked, there are no pests. The tree was repotted about a month ago. Roots were trimmed by 20%.

To promote new growth as in looking to develop some structure, I’m watering daily and using a slow release fertiliser.
