For the next repot, you’ll already know everything about different soils
Watering.. that’s a bit delicate with layers, specially if it’s mostly organic composition. I would pay attention what your plants tell to you.

I’m not a big help, cause I have different type of layered soil (mostly closed containers) for different plants, but none of them are woody.. but my fingers crossed for yours!
