Ready to report and clean up in March!!! was created by sedwards

This guy has been sitting in 100 pumice for a season now and has been thinned out 1 time since my ownership. I plan to repot into 15-17" wide rectangle pot unglazed in March. I will work on the deadwood the same season much later on if the health is good. Then some major wiring in the next few seasons and she should be looking very presentable at that point.

Light Trim and clean up and repot since the soil was rock hard and not taking in water.

I'll be honest. The overall impression isn't bad. The tree looks very healthy. However, the branch structure... I don't know.

I agree with Auk about the branch structure being too complicated, with crisscrossing of some branches. But the tree looks good and healthy!

i agree. Due to the inability to move those anymore my plan is to increase the deadwood and shari all up and down branches to reduce that crisscrossing look. I do think if the inner branches all had jin running up and down them it might make for a good look?

Thank you. I appreciate the honesty. Only makes me improve. I purchased this tree a few years ago hoping to just make most of it deadwood and jin.
