Hedge Maple growth!

Good morning everyone, just wanted to share the growth of some new buds. I picked up a Hedge Maple from a local nursery a few months ago. It must like the conditions! Also, im thinking about cutting the topmost branch when spring hits. Thoughts? Here are some "then n now" pics

yea they are outside, i turned on the balcony light last night to take the pictures. they shouldnt be in 24/7 darkness should they? weve had a very mild winter here in the PNW. the first 3 pictures were indoors that was when i had just got back form the nurserey

The maple won't mind the 24/7 darkness when leafless. The evergreens need there daily dose of light.

Why is this labelled 'cascade bonsai'???

I guess "Cascade Bonsai" is the nursery's name, Auk.
