A few years ago I tried to make a forest of Beech. However, I did not really like the fores then. So it went to someone else

The last few days I have worked on creating another one, but of Larix. As these trees were put under a bit of stress to their roots, I did not trim and wire the branches, but just panted the trunks, which also need reductions here and there still. But.. That is for after summer.

Not unhappy. Anyt thoughts?

Cleanup. Now it gets to settle for summer. Let's hope all of them survive the horrible rootwork I did to them..

I like it! if I see correctly, you did a cut back of the branches after the buds opened, in order to see which buds can be potential new leaders for the branches?

hm.. not really. I just did a rough trim to create a realistic merging of the different tree canopies :/. Just did not get around to doing it..
Larch you can often tell in late winter which buds will open and which will die off.

Which are alive and which are dead is easy to tell this time of year... I was wondering if you can tell in winter.
