Hi Bonsai Empire family,

Im Daniel, and I’m new to Bonsai. I have been learning on my own with the help of the internet. I first bought this shrub in October 2017, and had hopes of shaping it into a heart. At this time I wasn’t thinking of Bonsai. Throughout time I’ve learned a few things about plants, and eventually found myself constantly learning about them till this day. As you can see, I didn’t think I was deserving to spend money on buying the proper tools and supplies. I want to share my first Bonsai, “Sambac”. The Bonsai has come a long way from the torturing trial and error I’ve put it through. I’m really happy today that it’s still alive. I’m no longer aiming for a heart shaped bush. I’ll drop in some photos I have, and maybe I can get some input.

Thank you,

Daniel.

Quick Story

I first saw wiring on YouTube probably around 2019. So I bought some not knowing there were better options. This wire was a pain in the butt to deal with I will do my best to never do this again lol. I had this wired like that in 2019. I’ve yet to buy proper tools and wires...but I’ll get my hands on some when I can! (:

That looks pretty good for a first tree.

As you already commented; The wire is not ideal. It probably is very stiff. I would recommend looking into aluminium bonsai wire. It is a game changer.

Yeah I figured after finally getting my hands on some that a friend owns. He gave me a sample to see how it felt, and it definitely was easier than what I used lol. Thank you!
