This yew was planted in my fathers garden about 20 years ago- the tree was about 10 years when he got it, so in total a tree of about 30 years. He wanted to dig it up and get rid of it because he didnt want to prune it anymore ( he is already 83). Of course i wanted it after inspecting the trunk. For reference, its about 2mtr high, and more than a mtr across.

Luckily for me i could take my time , so in july of 2020 i pruned it drastically, with almost no more leaves left.

Three weeks later it had already buds all over, and by the end of the season it had shoots of 20cm.
Because i could take my time i decided to wait for the exact right time to dig it up , beginning of april this year. It took me well over 3 hours with the help of my son to dig it up and lift it out tof the hole we created.

At home i pruned the roots a bit more to fit the rootball into a very large plastic container, where it will recover for at least a year before i start working on it.
