Here are some pictures of some maple trees. The one in the green pot is an acer maple and I bought it online off of ebay. It seems to be happy and has some neat roots. I actually have two of them but they basically look the same. The one in the pink pot I found out tree hunting last year. It seems to be happy, too. Im going to do the leaf reducing next year. I'm leaving most of my trees be for the time being so they can grow.

Here is another little tree that I found in my yard, it seems to be doing well. I'm going to try to keep this one really small. I don't know what kind of tree it is. I'm going to work on the leaves after I know it is nice and settled. It's been in a pot for about a month and a half.

Those are some great trees, congrats. I like what youve done with the roots. The one in the pink jar is my favorite, in terms of surface roots. Perhaps you should start thinking about wiring them into shape before they become too thick.

Nice trees. I spy in the background some nice bigger trees that you could "stump" and dig up next year, after they get new growth. It's an easier way to get better and bigger trunks.
By the way are you in eastern USA? I miss seeing woodland areas right out the window. I'm originally from Illinois, now live in colorado. No woods like back home here.

LA as in Los Angeles or LA as in Louisiana? If Louisiana, as a former LSU student who took a lot of notice of the trees in the area, there are definitely beautiful trees there. If LA, then I covet your lack of winter. One of my goals is to work on getting my trees to do well even in the winter.

Los Angeles.. Our weather is definetly nice, but having a forest in your backyard seems pretty dam cool.
