Hello!
Here is an attempt of a brazilian wildcaught shrubby weed.
In June 2013, i collected it in a nearby region. It was a plant with a few inches high, but as I liked her, i took it.
It seems to be fair for a ''mame''. Gets good by cuttings, it sprouts vigorously, grows well, but, it has the cons: spaced internodes [might be fixed]; abundant blooms in the ''middle'' of gems which can abort weak branches; and the possibility of its lifetime be short [hope she lasts at least 5 years with me.].

I'm trying to lead it in a natural style. Here are the pictures:

I think it's doing OK due to the peculiarity of this species.

What do you think? Any advices?

I, personally, think that it is marvelous to turn a common weed into an artistic bonsai tree. it looks like a good "mame" bonsai as the leaves are quite small and nodes not so far away. as a weed, it should be extremely resilient and easy to care for.
the only downfall is that, as you said, it can be short lived. as i live in Britain, the weeds here may not even last the year, but only some make it, so i cannot say that it will be short lived as i have no experience with a Brazilian weed.

You're right! It do have a small leaves, and i think it can be very reduced if influenced to do so.
Also, what you noted as ''no so far away nodes'' are kinda spread to me. I think it can be reduced as well. But you will see that it's a little longer than you think when it starts sprouting and i post a pic.

Nice to know a little more about other country's vegetation. How are the weeds who survive during the year? They do live longer than two years?
Actually, i think this species occurs even in Florida. And here even weeds can go throughout years. I will be not so surprised if this little weed of mine live up to 2025.

the common weeds I have in Britain are usually: dandelion, chick weed, dock weed, horsetail and perennial and annual nettles. many of the weeds I get are soft, so they live lesser than the woody weeds in brazil.
I am sure, that if you keep working on that weed, it will turn into a wonderful bonsai specimen.

The problem with our weeds, is that in the main they die down in the winter so branches will be lost. Having said that I can't imagine wanting to use any Briish weeds for bonsai, although they do make excellent accent plants.
Your "weed" looks as it will be quite woody with age so it is a good one to experiment with.
How big is it? it looks a bit big for mame

Hey! Thanks for the replies and compliments. It will become one of my first bonsai works done. Im dedicating to bonsai for just 2 and a half years.
