Heyy. I'm making a mugo pine bonsai from pre-bonsai nursery material (sorry I don't have a picture of the non-styled version). It is the first bonsai-ish bonsai I made. I do have some other attempts witch I'd rather not show. I know I'm not using the correct wire but this is what I had laying around. I hope it looks ok

Welcome. First what country are you in?
Next any old wire lying around is not the best way to start.
You need to get the correct thickness for the branch you are going to wire, be very careful, I have found that Mugo pines are very fussy when it comes to working on them. Do not re pot and prune or wire at the same time. Preferably not in the same year. I speak from experience and watching a tree die in 3 months by doing just that.
Here we re pot in August not spring.
Care must be taken not to take a lot of root too.

Nice tree... Looks promising. The wire used is a little too thick though. You could buy anodized aluminum of different calibers in the web. It´s less expensive than copper and will serve your purposes just fine. Anyways... beautiful tree, good luck!

Thanks, I live in the Netherlands and the wire looks very thick because it is sealed and a wasn't planning on repotting it this year.

Ok, well, being in Holland you have several very good bonsai nurseries to choose from to get the things you need. As I said the proper wire is essential if you want to iwre correctly. Join your nearest society and see what others are doing, and you will learn much.
