I bought this tree on Sunday, it is rather viscious and has stabbed me twice already.

I will certainly post after Friday. I am not sure yet which will be the front, It has a nice area for carving one one side but that loses the curve. We will see. I dont know how long it was in the ground, it has to be 20 years plus. The diameter of the trunk is 10cm and a bit.

Most interesting Pyracantha specimen Geoff... Wish mine were that highly developed. Lots of year of advance training you have saved with that fat trunk! Please, do keep us updated. I would like to see how my own Pyracantha specimen could go in a few years from now... Nice :cheer:

Funny to see such a big fat trunk in such a little pot. Actually kind of wonderful that so little roots can support a tree this big in all of its needs.
I really love the tree, please keep us updated!

Took it to our workshop and did a bit of pruning. I removed as many spines as I could see, and some branches that were in the wrong place. I did choose what I think is the best front. However the tree is covered in buds so I am going to allow it to flower before doing too much more.
I may drop it out of the pot to look at the base of the rootball as it is unstable and the bottom of the is not flat. I will take some more pictures and add them here.
I am going to see the person I bought it from next week so I can find out some more about the age and how long it has been in the pot then.
