TOPIC: New Juniper starter

New Juniper starter 1 year 10 months ago #31714

So... cleaned up the trunk, repotted it (into the pot that my other juniper was in, I think the pot suits this tree much better), wired it today.
Looks better in real life... I need a better camera and a better background.

Very nice tree, Auk. The picture could be better, yes, but the tree is what matters!

Odd that the very reputable site calls it a Juniperus virginia , when the trade always refers to it as Chinensis

This very reputable site calls this specific plant exactly nothing.
The owner, just a forum visitor, calls it a J. Virginiana (Juniperus Virginiana Hetzii to be precise).

But yeah, there are lots of junipers and varieties. I understand you cannot see the difference.

The trade? They call Ficus Ginseng bonsai so that does not mean a thing.

Hm... It is wired, I am using a big bending iron and I have done some heavy pruning. I think it is not very presentable at the moment. But... I willmtry and do some updates. Bit of an issue as due to circumstances I have not been at home much this year and not been able to make decent photos.

Apart from that, I am very sure you have trees that outcompete mine.

Hm... hope your circumstances turn for the better. Hang in.

As for my trees vss yours? Maybe. but I do not have many good junipers. But I got one over summer that has girth & character like yours. Also.. pre-bending stage. Some 5-8cm thick branches that need to be moved around.
