The tree looks really nice :) , I'd like to do something like this myself when I have more experience.

Did you collect the tree? If so, do you know of any good sources to get information on doing that?

Thanks. No, I did not collect it. The history should be in the first post - I purchased it for 50 euro on marktplaats (a dutch auction / sales site, similar to Ebay).

Update:
The tree in 2013:

The tree today, needles plucked and wired, ready for the next season.
What I like most is - if you look how sparse the foliage was, especially for the lower branches - how this foliage has developed. The tree does not backbud - but still the branches are much fuller now:

Nice development.
This I really like. The looking back at how a tree started out, and what the steps have been. For my own trees I am always surprised to see the progression.
