Im new to this forum and love that you have this sub page to document progressions.

Im wanting to shape this maple tree and am looking solicit the public's help for ideas and start my own progression page to document the journey.

I had this tree for over 3 years and it has gone through hell with record heat wave, dry spells and natural disasters, espcially last summer's hail storm in Dallas, TX.



Looking at this poor thing, what would be the best way to start its new lease in life as a bonsai?

Are you wanting to turn this Japanese Maple into a bonsai? You would really need to air layer it to get rid of that awful graft line at the trunk.
