I got this pre bonsai a month or two ago- I cleaned it up and did some basic wiring- how do you think it looks?

I am not sure what you were going for, to be honest. Maybe it is the picture.

I would recommend to really think about what you want to achieve as final image. Bonsai is not about just twisting things around.

Although I would have to agree with leatherback here. It's all over the place, and doesn't feel satisfying to look at.
Look at other examples on this site. But in the end, it is up to you and what you want your tree to look like.
My tip would be to repot it, having the majority of the trunk over hanging the pot achieving a almost cascade look.

Maybe it's the angle of the photo that makes the tree look strange ,try posting a photo from another angle .

I like Ensio's comment of having a four side picture view, this gives one more thoughts. I like the health of the tree, you doing it right so far. Let see how it develops in the future. Nice to watch the progression.
