Japanese maple "red wine" which I found in a garden centre. I liked how there seemed to be roots all around the trunk. Upon repotting this spring I realized how good the roots were!

Good job. Is type of soil biggest factor getting such sun rayed roots?

I have no idea :)
Normally I would expect this on air layers (A layer I took of it last year has similar roots). But this was in regular potting soil, and I suspect was a normal cutting. So.. Not sure.
