I have this crabapple tree, and I am thinking about some changes. The long extended branch on the "right" side doesn't really seem to fit. There is another extended branch above that I would also like to cut back. I probably won't do any cutting back until the winter at the end of this year, but I am wondering if you have some ideas about where I could cut it back.

The first two pictures are from last year... The others from this year including one without leaves.

here the photo without leaves again. for some reason it got cut off. Also, any ideas on what I could do with the nebari on the one side?

I would put it in a much bigger pot or in the ground for a while the trunk is very thin in relation to the height. They are a fast growing species and need space to grow when they are this young.

That's probably what it was that doesn't quite seem right to me.... As I don't have a garden, it will have to be a pot.
