Welp i took the plunge and did some drastic pruning on my bonsai to get it looking less like a shrub and more like bonsai. The third photo down shows what it looked like before and now it's down to two final branches. I need some advice on where to cut to help it grow back into a better more pleasing triangle. but I also don't' want to kill it in the process and am worried about cutting it back too drastically. Would love advice on where to cut.
Thank you for your reply. I was given advice in another forum that not pruning the rest would just send new growth into the last two branches as opposed to below. Is this the case in your opinion?
Yes, most probably.
I would have cut right above the first branch, or perhaps a little higher, after the beginning of the second bend.
But to cut it down again right now is too risky in my humble opinion.

I am with Clio on this one. Please leave it alone, and let it regain strength.
