Hi,

I own a 36year old Water Jasmine (Wrightia Riligiosa). The previous owner has th tree in a very large pot and it sat in his garden.

I plan to have it sit in my balcony, and am looking to repot into a smaller pot as well as potentially restyle the tree.

Looking for your inputs on design ideas and tips. Also since the tree is quite old, I am afraid if I try to rewrite and move the branches I will end up breaking the branches.

Suggestions and design ideas welcome.

Hello :)

I would cut off the top and make a new crown more suitable for the trunks of such thickness.

Ups ... I see on the second picture that the bottom brach is probably growing from the other trunk and crossing the left one .... in that case I would remove it but I do not know if the left trunk would sprout new buds after you would shorten it...you need to find out by observing where the new buds are appearing.

I would propably let the tree grow for few months before pruning anyway, it doesn´t look like it is very happy.

Thanks much... do i necessarily need to cut the top off... i just defoliated the tree and added some organic fertilizer and have got some crazy growth without cutting the top.. will try taking some new pictures and posting in a couple of weeks.
