I have read conflicting views online about pruning wisteria. How does one reduce leaf size in this species? Do I continuously cut the leaves back to the branch? Do I just cut the leaflets?

Wisteria is noramlly grown for the flowers, and left to grow wild for the rest of the season. I have not come across techniquies to reduce leaf size.
