Just a little Sneak peak for Clicio, cause I won’t start the progression thread on this year.
Wires, oh wires... Thanks to the growth spurt and my lack of attention/experience, got some scars on this girl... Now it’s time to change to clip and grow, hence I almost have the desired base structure which I like. I still missing one branch to broke the two parallels on the main part, but it’s growing on the background, waiting for positioning when it’ll be enough strong.
Do you remember me?
Before dewiring (the word exists...)
After dewiring with &$#”@ of wire marks...

Thanks for the video, Felidae.
As you must have noticed, just for starters he says "this one is with me for 25 years".
You have the time to wait, I have not.
But even if I had, I would rather spend this time with a big tree, conifer or deciduous, than with a Serissa.
On the other hand, YES, I am a proud owner of a young Serissa Variegata, that is blooming at the moment, and I keep it as a lucky charm among my serious bonsai! hahahahahaha

I didn’t planned to die on the following 30 year, but we never know The tree on the vid still fairly young for me with it’s age. If I can achieve the half of it in 10-15 years, I’m good. I do understand the basics how to make bonsai easier from developed, older trees, but I try to see the good side of the more time consuming, “handraised” ones.

I believe they have a “raison d’etre”. What I realized on this short time, I try to embrace the diversion and variety of different specs. Currently I’m unable to keep real big ones (4 sq. meter balcony rulez...), but that’ll change with the moving. Even like this, I have some material with over 10-12 cm base girth. This Serissa will never became a majestic showstopper, but I believe, it won’t resemble for the pathetic mallsai photos which google gives you after “Serissa bonsai” keywords.
