Hi guys I'm very new to bonsai and just wanted to ask for a quick styling tip.
I've got this juniper seedling from a bonsai nursery here in the UK early this spring, since then I have potted it up in some nice soil and have been watering it whenever the top of the soil gets dry. Also I have recently started fertilizing it with biogold pellets.
I have not really done much more to the tree and would like to know if I should cut any branches that are coming out of the same point on the trunk as to prevent a bulge appearing. I don't feel rushed to cut anything as it is a very small juniper, but rather wanted to ask if I should look out for anything in future development.
Any tips about the styling or pruning would be greatly appreciated.

This really is a very small plant yet. I think for this year I would just leave it alone. Learn watering and fertilizing. And see what it looks like next year.

I would not prune anything for the time being.

Second Leatherback. It may sound funny to recommend six months of study to spend twenty minutes snipping, but you will be glad in ten years.

I'm not going to prune anything then ^^ guess I just saw to many videos and was overthinking the inverse taper idea
Mentioning fertilizing, I've been watering my bonsai with a diluted seaweed extract every week or two and have applied some organic fertilizer pellets to the soil surface, do you think that is enough? I know I'll see the results eventually and I can vary the routine, just wanted to quickly ask if there is anything else I should be doing?

That is more than enough fertiliser For such a small plant it has to photosynthesise and there is not a great deal of foliage, you need to allow it to grow on this year at least and possibly next as well. It also depends on what you want from the plant, do you want a much bigger tree, or do you want one about the size it is now? It seems to be growing which is good, but remember that the strength of Junipers is in the foliage so when it comes to pruning you must be very careful not to take much off as it will stress the tree.

I think I would like to keep it relatively small, maybe twice the size it is now, gradually thickening up the trunk and developing the root system.
Yea I've read that junipers stress if you cut more then around 30% of the foliage, I will try and not overdo it when I finally have to do some pruning.
I'll take your advice and just let the tree grow.for this and next year

If you want to get a thick trunk you’ll have to let it grow largely unimpeded for a few years.
In that timeframe wire is going to be needed more than scissors...
