Hi folks,

I've just been enjoying the bank holiday weekend snipping at some nursery stock.

I'm still very much a novice, but I think there's a nice multi-trunk bonsai in here with a few years' work. The tip I found recently about clipping out the large side branches and growing from the smaller ones already feels better than my previous beginner's instincts.

I'm a little torn on the styling, though - there are six trunks when an odd number would look better, and I probably need to do a bit more shaping of them too. I'll boil it down to three questions:

1) Should I either completely remove or turn into deadwood one of the trunks? I'm thinking either 4 or 5 could work for this.

2) Would you reposition any of the trunks? If so, how?

3) Would you suggest shortening the main trunks further to allow for a bit more ramification at the top without losing the shape/scale?

Many thanks for any advice!
