(Excuse this if it is a repeat - I'm not sure my first message went through.)

Pinching back a new bonsai tree: I chose, planted and shaped this tree about two weeks ago. It is growing new buds very quickly and I'm not sure if I should be pinching them off. (The tree was acquired from a class I took at the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens - it is a young tree.) I read that not all new buds should be pinched off, but nothing is said about how many buds should be left on the tree. I could use a little guidance, please.

Asking how much you can pinch of this juniper is like asking how much hair you can cut off from your pet turtle.
