Each plant has their own.moment and treatment to get them to root. Many cultivated plants, such as apple and pear, are hard to root. If they come as grafts in stores it is often a species that will not easily reproduce by cutting.

The pro is that is that it is easy to bend the 'trunks'. No long term plan, it was just a quick exercise.

Yeah well this year its pushing out loads but last year it hardly pushed out any so im hoping on a good growth on girth this growing season

Sure, I made picture for you. Can't remember how big the cuttings were. Not much smaller than what they are now, I think.
