TOPIC: Added some unknown soil to my bonsai pot

Added some unknown soil to my bonsai pot 3 weeks 2 days ago #60555

Hello Everyone
I have a Carmona Fukien Tea bonsai and I'm a beginner . so I got the bonsai as a gift and after some months I noticed that some of the roots are slightly out of the soil (I guess some soil might went of from the edge when i was watering it) . anyway I put some soil on top of it and covered the slightly our of soul roots . now I am wondering if the soil can hurt the tree or mess up the soil mix or it does not matter becuz it was a little .( in matter of volume i added like 5 % or less )
about the soil I added . It was from my mom's spare pot . she does not know what kind of soil it is . i have some pictures of the soil if it helps identify .
Thank you . I just wanted to know if this is okay or i need to repot the tree or take other actions , in matter of visual status . the tree seems to be just fine , grows new shoots , flowers and some fruits.

Ahh, understand. The visible roots could be nebari, a desirable feature for bonsai trees. If not, I am sure that a few mm of succulent mix would do no harm for your tree as long as your care is adjusted to it. At least not in the short or medium future.
