Hi all and thanks in advance.
Wasnt sure whether to post this in beginner section (thats definitely my level!) or here, but seemed most applicable here.
Ive recently got my hands on a dozen or more Hawthorn, boxwood and birch saplings FoC. Theyre very young 5mm trunk and have root systems no more than an inch across and a couple of inches deep. Ive planted them all up in regular pots of varying sizes, thought it would be a good experiment to learn first hand how this impacts growth.
However I have recently read about these Ercole air pots as per photo, and as sold here at Kaizen bonsai:

Just wondering if anyone had experience with using these or similar? Do they work well as intended and will it make my life easier in years to come with root care?
Also a side note any thoughts on placing something underneath the root mass at this early stage to encourage root spread?
Thanks, Andrew
