This was supposedly a bodhi ficus... (ficus religiosa) recently looked up the seeds and they don’t look anything like this. They are very small. This was from sowers source bonsai starter kit, I got as a gift.

Looking to identify what type of seed this is.

Obviously many others think so too. In my opinion there is something fishy with selling seeds at redicoulus prices just by calling them bonsai seeds. Many beginners are made to believe that they pay for a premium that is just not there. Since the bonsai seeds will grow exactly the same tree as normal seeds that is just a smart way to make more money without any gain for the unaware beginner. Actually many companies that sell bonsai marked seeds have no idea of correct storage, sprout rate or age of the seeds. Which means that seeds from reputable seed companies often is the premium shoice. Experienced bonsai artists dont by seeds marketed as bonsai seeds.

For beginners the best seeds is the ones you pick yourself locally.

It is not the seed that makes the bonsai. Without intervention it will grow into a tree. As such, treeseed. It is the actions of man that make it into a bonsai.

Thank you. And sorry. Tried to be sarcastic, but sarcasm never works on these online fora :(

I gather my bonsai seed in parks and forests. And from fruit I eat. Most trees give away their seeds for free in large quantities ;)

Emotions translate poorly in fora. Emoticons do help a lot. When you write you are confused and no emoticon.. I assume you really are confused. :woohoo:
