The tap water where I live is seriously alkaline. So I just add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to 1 gallon of water. I also add 2-4 teaspoons of Epsom salts per gallon. I also have iron pellets, which I sprinkle from time to time as instructed. Almost everything I water grows great, including Dawn redwood. (The only problems are Sweet broom, Lilac and Mealy sage).
