I am new to the hobby and started with a new tree.  I was able to successfully grow roots to about 4-5 inches.  Soon after potting I started noticing that the tree had started to die.  The stem is still green and seems viable.  I planted it about 3-4 inches deep like was described in planting documentation.  I used soil with no miracle grow as I heard that this is harmful.  Am is missing something?

Missing something, yes maybe mention what species it is?

Does the pot have a drainage hole?

The biggest obvious problem is that it is indoors.
