What is the best time of year to repot a Chinese Elm bonsai tree? It is still inj the nursery container in which I bought it. I beleive it is two years old.

If kept as an outdoor tree (as it should be) then Spring is the best time - if indoors then anytime as there is no real dormant period. If however you just want to put it in a larger container without root disturbance this can be done anytime for outdoor or indoor growing

just to make a small correction, chinese elms are both indoor and outdoor trees, they aren't 'supposed' to be outdoor trees.

As someone said there is no such thing as an indoor tree. Chinese Elms are totally hardy and are best kept outside. They survive indoors if you are lucky. They are tough, which is why you can get away with it, at least for a while. They do not do best in that kind of environment.
