ThIs is where I'm at just now , still loads to do but I have to wait till I get more wire . As you can see in the first two pics the was no sign of an apex , all the branches where all over the place and it just didn't make sense , I've not done much yet but I've found the apex , removed most of the crossing branches and I've finally found a sense to it all :)

I would probably thin it out more. Did you remove all extra branches? So reduce all splits to max 2 branches?

Ideally you can look through the branch to the one below it after trimming and wiring.

I haven't removed all the extra branches yet as I'm still not sure what to keep ,I'm taking my time with this one as i dont want to remove something i need . I've left two branches at each main intersection where there is already hardwood , I left some of the soft new growth with more because I want to keep it healthy and maybe in courage some backbudding . The thing is I don't know how much more foliage I can remove without hurting the tree too much . I'm also waiting for my wire so I can place all the branches where they need to be so I can better see what to remove .

I have now finished my work on this juniper for this year , I finally received my wire so I wired the whole tree i think i have all the pads i need set in place , i finished thinning it out now I have to wait and hope that it's going to put loads of new growth where I want it so I can build the pads properly:)

I've still to decide what to do with that long back branch so I left it for now. Any comments appreciated.

I think you can do better yet :)

If I look at the tree, I think you wired all the branches without needles right?
If you go deeper into the tree, and also wirte the younger side-branches, you can actually wire them into planes. Check what I did with my yew in www.bonsaiempire.com/forum/progressions/9904-shokkan-yew . There it is really extremely visible, as young european yew branches have no height.

You can do the same with your juniper, which would create more distinct pads of foliage. As before: You should pretty much be able to look through the branches. This naturally, is assuming your plant has been growing strong this season, and is well recovered from the digging operation.

Thanks stone shirt and thanks for believing in me leatherback ;)
I understand what you mean leatherback , I am still a bit on the cautious side with this tree , it is growing very vigorously now after the styling but I wasn't sure before , I am taking my time and watching it grow carefully so I can see the way it responds to my pruning , I'm learning a lot about the species and I'm pretty confident that next year I will go all the way with it ;)
As you said I didn't wire the younger branches yet and I didn't take away all the unneeded foliage but I'm still deciding on what to keep and what to remove , I removed all the obvious like upward growing and stuff like that but there still a few things I'm not sure about .
I have a question tho , what do you think about the lowest cascading branch , is it an option to remove it or is does it go with the design ?

I find giving styling advice online almost impossible. 2D and real life are very different beasts. So.. Yeah, probably it can go. Then again, I would think you can even make more out of the tree than you have now..
