Hey I was gifted a bonsai tree kit, wasn't expecting anything to grow. (Who knows how long it's been sat on a shelf? )

So I now have 5 seedlings in one pot, a few of them quite close together. Research tells me not to repot until they're about a year old but I'm worried about the roots getting tangled up or something. Should I repot now and separate them?

yes, separate them into different pots, or at least I would separate them. It really depends on the size of the pot. Can I ask what species they are?
Also, can you give me a rough size of the pot?

Last Sunday, I repotted 33 apple seedlings (I should take more pictures). The craziest picture would have been, when i took them from the basement fridge, about six weeks ago. They were all spouting, in the fridge. they were planted in two big trays of peat, and compost

After most them had about 3 leaves, I planted them, one each, in 11.5 centimeter azalea pots, (potting soil). They'll be repotted next spring. Even cut the tap roots off. See, picture's would have been nice.

None of them even wrinkled, they're still doing fine.

I have no idea what the seeds are, like I said they came in a grow your own gift set which didn't specify.
They're really tiny, I've put a penny in the pic for size comparison. And there's a few I can just see starting to shoot up, they started to be visible about 3 days ago.
Any advice for repotting?

They currently look like they could be weeds, definitely not old enough to re-pot yet. wait until they're about the size of those in Samantha's picture.
The only strange thing is that they're broad-leaved whereas those kits normally have some kind of pine in them. Can we see a picture of the box?

yes, you need to wait, I'm not sure what they call the leaf like things that come out when a seed first sprouts. Wait for a few leaves.

I agree with BonsaiLearner, they might be weeds, kind of small.

Where'd you get that cool penny?

I used one of those growing kits and now have 3 Norway Spruce growing in the same pot. Although I tried to plant the seeds far apart they appear to have sprouted nearly on top of each other. They only started growing last week, but I’m concerned that one of them is already showing signs of dying which may be because it has another sprout nearly on top of it. When is would it be appropriate to transplant the soil pod into a larger pot? Is one of the sprouts doomed? The pot the kit came with is really tiny.

Might be better to start a new topic of your own instead of replying to a 4 year old dead topic.
That being said, that soil looks dry and they seem to be inside, where they will die.
