Your location, a picture and a species name may help others to help you. I am not so good with juniper, but someone will chime in. Only water when the top inch of soil starts to get dry, but do not wait to water at that point either or it could dry out to much. Also, it must live outside.

Welcome to the forum, best of luck. :)

This seems contradictory. I may be reading it wrong, but to me it reads "only water when the top inch of soil starts to get dry, but don't wait to water until the top inch of soil starts to get dry"

Here are proper watering guidelines:

Everything else was correct, though.

thanks Bonsai learner ;) I meant don't wait past that point. And I said inch but really I stick my finger tip in about halfway to the first knuckle, after measuring my finger, about 1/2 an inch. If that's dry, water until it starts draining from the bottom hole in the pot. Sometimes, especially if it is hot or dry, its best to check a couple times a day. You will probably want to go look at your trees anyway.

Best advice I can give you is: ask first, act later.
