Please help, as no-one at nurseries or bunnings appear to grow or know about bonsai care. My father passed away and his bonsai got out of control. I'm trying to restore it for my mother. I bought Searles bonsai mix and I do not believe it to be effective. I've tried researching soil mix, but where I live in Australia I cannot obtain the products, such as akadama, pumice and volcanic rock. I would appreciate someone providing me with a recipe that has worked for them.

There is scoria at bunnings that you can obtain. You can also use organic compost as part of your soil mix
