Hi,
I am a shiny newbie to the art of Bonsai, and because I could not get a hold of a preBonsai, I decided to start from seed. So now I have three tiny Kowhai trees growing in a egg box on my windowsill. What I would like to know is this; now that they are big enough to be potted, should I put them into a normal pot and let them get a bit bigger, or should they go straight into a proper bonsai pot?

In a large pot of in the garden. I do not know the plant you are growing nor the climate, so cannot tell which route works best. Have a look at growing bonsai from seedlings here:

Ah, thanks. I live in Auckland, NZ, which has kind of a bunch of sub-tropical microclimates depending on which area you're in. I'm northward, so it's warm and humid from spring to Autumn and really rainy in winter, and I'm growing Weeping Kowhai (Sophora Tetraptera) which is a NZ native.
