Hello!
Does anyone know some big online shops for bonsai supply in Japan?
Ideal would be companies that do retail and wholesale and who have someone who speaks English.
I´ll be thankful for every hint!

To get some context: do you live in Japan, want to do bonsai but don’t speak the language or what?

Time zone suggests usa not Japan.

Jens: for import of plants to usa you will need a phytosanitary certificate. It is not cheep. Thats why Most trees imported is coming in to nurceries in bulk. If you find a very special tree however, the cost is negligbe.

I don’t trust that field at all tbh. It says you and I are on UTC-5 as well, and my attempts to set it in my profile failed...

What one would need to do changes quite dramatically with your location, and can require way more than getting a certificate, or so people local to me and doing bonsai import from Japan tell me.
Anyway yes, that’s exactly the reason for asking for more information on the context of the OP’s request

Hi everyone!

I live in Vienna (the one in Austria, just in case there are other ones in the US or wherever) and I don´t want to buy bonsai equipment (please don´t laugh or insist on a humanosanitary certificate) I want to sell.
For this I need a good and trustworthy shop who also does wholesale, comparable to Stone Lantern who sell my item the US.

Thanks!
p.s. I love the pseudonym topfrog, are you by any chance French?

Thanks for clarifying.

Humanosanitary certificate    :S . Not yet any need for that......

p.s. I love the pseudonym topfrog, are you by any chance French?

Thanks. It is actually Tropfrog, not topfrog. But I came to realize that it is very common missunderstanding trou the years. It source is way back in another decenium when I had a business breeding tropical dart frogs, have used it since. I am Swedish by the way.

Hi Jens,

Out of interest: What is it that you sell?

I know of one online store for bonsai equipment, but that is from the producers themselves, kaneshin bonsai tools: kaneshin.shop2.multilingualcart.com/index_en_jpy.html

Kaneshin – what a wonderful shop!!
So many tools that are rarely seen in Europe and the background info about tools is highly interesting.

They seem to have everything but pots.
Unfortunately, (@Leatherback) because my product is a training pot with knobs (for guy wiring) and air pruning.
If you want to see them I can send you a link in a private message, otherwise people might think I abuse the empire for advertisement.

Magnus, sorry for the misunderstanding, but it was very funny. I could add another one by asking what dart frogs are used for in Sweden, but this is probably a question for a bowhunting forum.

Not to forget: if anyone knows a Japanese online shop just like Kaneshin but with (training) pots, please ...

Cheers,

Jens

Ah, yes. I know the pots!
Are they your product? Or did you get a license to produce them?
I must say, I do not see them a lot in Europe. Have you contacted the owner of this site who runs an online store, linked to Deshima Bonsai in the Netherlands? I do not recall seeing the tie-pots at Deshima store. (Will be there on Saturday for the annual new years' reception and can take a look).

Kaneshin is a well-respected tool maker in Japan. Well worth sending them an email and asking whether they would be interested in also having pots on their site?

J.

Thanks for telling me about Deshima, they have a very cool assortment and Ill write them a mail, of course.
I will write Kaneshin too, though it would surprise me if a shop would offer no other pot than mine ...
Thanks a lot!
