Oopsss too late now..."Deadline #2 (December 1st 2013): Document the progress you made towards the end of the competition. This includes pictures of the seedlings in full growth (summer 2013) and the seedlings without leaves (November 2013). Include a closeup of the actual fused trunks!"

I have found that if you use the electrical tape for plants, the glue is not the best for them. But have found away around this by doubling over the electrical tape so no glue adheres to the plant and just leave exposed enough at the end to stick back on the tape.
I lost some runners on the jasmine after using the tape adhered to the plant. Worse luck.
