Hi Everyone, I just purchased a Snow Rose Serissa a few days ago. I live in New Jersey so this will be an indoor plant for now. I didn't receive very much information when I bought it. My questions is if I should fertilize it now? I read that indoor plants can be fertilized year round but I am not sure. Some of the leaves have also turned yellow and fallen off...I am guessing this is over watering. Last question, a lot of what I am reading says to water the plant until the water comes out the bottom? I don't see holes in the bottom of the container...am I missing something? I have heard this isn't the best bonsai to start with for a beginner however, we already love her and are determined to make this work. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

drainage holes are absolutely necessary.
serissas can be tricky, don't move it around.
there is no such thing as an " indoor tree", this is untrue to the nature of trees.
fertilize only if it is healthy, and refrain in the winter.

Thank you! I was mistaken...there are holes in the bottom Should I fertilize just once this weekend to give it an extra boost or no? I removed the yellow leaves and so far she is looking better. I was planning on doing a low dose of fertilizer this weekend. What do you think?

I live in Australia and fertilise all my trees for the 3mths of spring and the 3mths of autumn which here is September October November and March April May. I use a mix of blood and bone and dynamic lifter 50/50 mix in a large tea bag secured down with tooth pics and change the tea bag on a monthly basis but leave the old tea bag on so you circle the whole tree making sure all the roots are fertilised and take the tea bags off after the 3 mth period has gone. Trees have a summer dormancy period and the Autumn feed sets the tree up for winter. Hope this helps. Glenn
