My larch is in the sun from about 11 am till early evening... direct unimpeded sun... it did have a minor mite problem, which got correct after the lady bugs showed up, but it is growing well.

That's just a translation of the quote. It doesn't say anything about how much.

Mine are in the sun all day every day. They love it.
