If you are in the northern hemisphere it should be dormant and leafless by now. Then what you need to do now is to give it at least 6 weeks in 5-8 celsius for its much needed rest. Any problem showing on the leafs is neglible sinze they are old and should fall off by now anyway.

My adventures on trying to grow Wisterias indoors was a big disaster.
Now that I have them all outdoors, they need a lot of water, they never get pests and they grow fast in the Spring, not at all in the Summer, fast in the Autumn and not at all in the Winter.
Good luck!

Since I live in a college dorm I can't exactly place it outside. Would you recommend that I bring it back to my home and leave it outside there? I live in Zone 5b if that helps. However, I only visit my home every other weekend so I'm afraid it'll die unless I'm able to get my parents to care for it.

Well, bit of a catch 22 there: inside it will die ( no doubt about it), outside it might die because of no one to take care of it... tough one

Thanks for your advice. I never would have known the tree is supposed to lose its leaves and I wouldn't have resolved to put it outside without all of the info and personal experiences others have given. I've decided I'll bring it home and leave it outside and see if my parents can handle checking the soil every couple of days and giving it water. Considering they don't have to look after me anymore they might be able to pull it off, lol.

Another option is to plant it in the ground at your parents place. It is perfectly hardy in 5b. Planting in ground will make it grow faster and require less or no watering and fertilizing. All you need to do is cut it back every now and then when visiting your parents. Once you have an outdoor space for your own, dig it up, put in a pot and start training it.
