Hello, I’m very new to bonsai. I purchased some seeds online and ( Brazilian Rosewood, Japanese black pine, Flametree, and blue spruce, I have a few questions first is using no damp off good for planting seeds, secondly how often should I water my seeds? I keep them on my window sill which is almost perfectly faced westward Any and all tips are welcome

Now is not the right time to sow seeds. Wait until spring.

Pine and spruce is tempate species and cannot be grown indoors.

Damping off is one of the main reasons that seedlings die for most, so yes, it would be usefull. I do not know the product you refer to though, so mainly on basic premise based.

Keep in mind that you are trying to grow plants out of sync with the seasons. Most temperate species drop their seed in fall, they stay in the cold over winter (And get stratified this way) to germinate in spring. For non-tropicals that is my recommendation. Plant the seeds, put outside and wait till spring (In fact, that is how I grow them).

For tropicals it is best to get germination once the darkest part of winter is over, say march. Then you have a few more weeks inside, and once weather gets summer-like you can place them oustide. That way you will have the best results.

Seeds you water once and forget about untill the soil gets dry again. I normally place indoor-sowing pot in a plastic bag till germination: You do not have to water at all.
