I have several elms which usually turn golden yellow in the fall for a while and look very nice.

This year they are all turning purple and falling off quickly, which just doesn't look as nice.

Is there a fertilizer issue here? This year I have used BioGold almost exclusively. Is there something missing from that? It seems to be a pretty popular product here on the Empire and I don't see how that could be an issue.

Hm.. interesting. Do not know to be honest. Could it be just different sun exposure?

That is a possibility. This has been the coolest summer in a long time, using as a measure my electric bill for air conditioning, which was about half what has been normal for most of July, August, and September. There were a lot of clouds in August and September, and both day and night temps were low.

September has been drier than usual with almost no rain.

OTOH the ginkgo is turning the usual bright yellow.
