Hi, has anyone noticed the trunk of a bonsai looking wet?
Not the shiny sort of wet but more like the moisture from the soil is wicking up the trunk. The bark is darker and moist looking to about half way up. It goes away when the soil has dried and it's time to water.
Does anyone know anything about this or if it might indicate over watering?
Thanks

I'm not sure...
can you try to post a picture so that I know specifically what you mean?

Thanks,

Sounds like you have algea, particularly slime algea on your trunk & pot.
You use organic fertilizer in pellets?

Sorry it has taken me so long to upload this!
This picture was taken right after watering, this wet appearance goes away when it hasn't been watered for a while.
Opinions please?

Thank you!
