I used this method on a juniper. But......

That 'but' there... do you realize that your advise may be not so good as it does NOT concern the same circumstances?

Absolutely - at the end every garden has its own microclimate and we just need to do what we believe suits these circumstances. For example I always read that pines like dryer soils, but myne like it very very wet. As soon as I don't water twice a day they start showing signs of stress. So after you learned it all (which is never) you have to make it in your own way.

If you mean that they might relieve themselves on it, that shouldn't be a problem.
You'll have to say for yourself whether they would dig it up.

We know nothing about your dogs. Chihuahuas? Great Danes? Are they allowed in the garden? Where will the tree be, is it in a protected area?
But yes, in general, they are a risk.

I don't think my dogs will dig it up, just smell it. Thanks for the help.

I was just concerned about urine, but it was clarified. Thank you Winter.

I disagree though. It will kill the little plant.

I agree with Auk in disagreeing: tests showed that urine should be dissolved in 30 parts water to be safe when used as fertiliser - otherwise it's too strong.
